The Department of Recreation and Parks is accepting nominations for its 2012 “Community Sports Hall of Fame,” which honors outstanding individuals, living or deceased, who have made substantial contributions to community recreational sports in Howard County. Broadband:
Since receiving $72 million in federal stimulus funding to manage the Inter-County Broadband Network (ICBN) in 2010, Howard County has been leading the effort to propel the state of Maryland to be a premier economic and technological hub throughout the 21st century. ICBN will directly connect thousands of community anchor institutions across the state, save taxpayers $28 million annually, and provide economic development throughout Maryland.
